Late-breaking news affecting travel in Singapore
United Airlines’ New International Baggage Policy | 09:44 AM GMT, August 3, 2011
United Airlines (UA) will be charging a service fee of US$70.00 to check a second bag for
non-premium customers traveling Ex-Singapore to United States and vice versa, per direction. The
policy applies to customers who purchased tickets on/after July 15, 2011 and travel on/after August
15, 2011.
Below is a list of customers who will not be charged a service fee to check a second
bag:
- Customers who have purchased Business or First class fares
- UA Frequent Flyer members: Global ServicesSM, 1K, Premier Executive, Premier, OnePass Platinum Elite, OnePass Gold Elite, OnePass Silver Elite.
- Star Alliance Gold members
- Active U.S. Military personnel traveling with orders.
All baggage service fees will be collected at the airport counter upon check-in.
